BI partner Cooperative Energy Futures brings solar power to affordable housing

Our partners at Cooperative Energy Futures recently made headlines in a collaboration with Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative that shows what can happen when philanthropy, advocacy, and policy work in harmony. One of the most innovative parts of the project is how it introduces the possibility of solar power to rental properties while addressing the realities of economic inequity. As Frank Jossi at Energy News Network writes:

"Cooperative Energy Futures recently completed rooftop solar installations on five Minneapolis apartment buildings owned by Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative, a nonprofit that provides deeply affordable housing and social services to residents who have experienced homelessness or who are living in poverty."
